Change Password
-

-
The default password is communicated to the Smart Quotes user by the administrator. The password can be changed after starting up Smart Quotes in the User Data section under the Setup menu.

-

-
Depending on the administrator settings, it may be necessary for users to change their password immediately upon the start up of Smart Quotes. If so, the following message appears:

-

-

-

-

-

-
Upon acknowledgement of the message, the change password window appears as shown in the following example:

-

-

-
When changing the password, the current password must first be entered then the new password must be entered twice. According to the administratorís settings, the password may have to contain a certain number of characters, and may have to be composed of upper or lower case letters, numbers, or special characters.

-

-
The following characters are considered as special characters: ! ì # $ % & ë ( ) * + , - . / : ; < = > ? @ [ \ ] ^ _ ` { | } ~

-

-
The new password cannot be saved until all the conditions are met.

-

-

-
If the administrator has determined a period of validity for the user's password, a warning message alerts the user before the password is about to expire, as shown in the following example:

-

-

-

-

-

-
The user may decide to change the password before the deadline. Upon expiration of the validity period, the password will have to be changed.

-

-

-
{{Note

-
| If the Smart Quotes user has enabled the single sign on mode, the validity period control of the password is on hold. The Smart Quotes user does not receive the warning messages or does not have to change his/her password upon expiration of the validity period of the password.

Nomad User
-

-
If the Smart Quotes user has a Nomad user status, that user can connect to other versions descending from his/her own version (children versions, grandchildren versions, etc...). If so, after the login window, another window appears where the Smart Quotes user can select the version in which he/she wants to log in, as shown in the following example:

-

-

-

-

-

-
The Smart Quotes user can select his/her own version or any authorized sub-version.

-
When logged in a sub-version as a Nomad user, the Smart Quotes user has access to completely different sets of data than when logged in his/her own version.
