Metis Smart Modeling - Documents

The following document types are available in Metis Smart Suite.

 

A Metis type document is selected when the user wishes to generate a file which was fully specified in advance and implemented by Xpert Technologies SA.

Other files could be .txt, .pdf or .ppt files which the user wishes to generate. For those files, no content will be added before generating it.

Before anything else, the user must first use the version drop-down list and select the version in which he would like to manage documents. The version that is at the top of drop-down list is the version in which the user is logged in the parent version. Any other versions that are found in the drop-down list are child versions. For a child version to appear in the drop-down list, the child version must have been previously set as administrator free. If this is not the case, it will not show up in the drop-down list.

In the '''Documents''' sub-menu, the "Add" button [[File:MetisSmartModelingAddButton.PNG|link=]] located above the main table allows the user/administrator to create a new Document. When it is clicked, the '''Document''' window opens. Documents are listed in the table below organized by their name in the '''Designation''' field or by the date they were added in the '''Date''' field. The user must first choose between '''Offer Level''' and '''System Level''' by selecting the appropriate radio button. If the user chooses the Offer level, then the document will be available to all offers found in Smart Quotes and refer to the content of the offer altogether. For the system level, once the radio button has been ticked, a list of all the systems found in Metis will be presented in another table below. The user can then select the desired systems which will have access to the document by ticking the appropriate check-boxes. Documents linked to system will be available in Metis Smart Quotes for the selected system(s) and refer only to the content of the occurrence of a system. Then the user must select the type of document from the '''Document Type''' drop-down list.

 

In the '''Documents''' sub-menu, the "Edit" button [[File:MetisSmartModelingEditButton.PNG|link=]] located above the main table allows the user/administrator to apply modifications to all properties related to the selected Document. Selecting a document and clicking on it opens the '''Document''' edition window where all related properties and information can be edited. The user may then edit the document name, type, file associated as well as the systems linked to the document if the document is from the system level.

For detailed descriptions of all information available in this window please refer to the section dedicated to the creation of a new Document. Modifications applied to the selected document will only be saved once the Documents edition window is validated using the [[File:MetisSmartModelingOKButton.PNG|link=]] button at the bottom of the window. This will update the table displayed on the main screen. Using the "Cancel" [[File:MetisSmartModelingCancelButton.PNG|link=]] button discards all changes and closes the window.

 

In the '''Document''' sub-menu, the "Delete" button [[File:MetisSmartModelingDeleteButton.PNG|link=]] located above the main table allows the user/administrator to delete the selected Document. Selecting one or more Documents and clicking on it displays the following confirmation window.

Once the warning is confirmed, the selected Document is removed from Metis Smart Suite and deleted from the Metis Database.

 

In the case of "Crystal Report" document, a template needs to be created with Crystal Report (R) in order for Metis Smart Quotes to be able to use it.
