Description of the Menu Design

The '''Design''' menu allows the Smart Quotes user to configure the offer with the help of configuration masks.  

To configure the offer, the Smart Quotes user should fill in the modeling masks that have been designed for each system and/or subsystem.

The '''Design''' menu consists of buttons, a column and a drawing pad, as shown in the following examples:

 

 

 

Under the ''Design'' tab, the following buttons are available:

| The buttons are hidden if the Smart Quotes user selects a mask or a group of masks in the column below the buttons area.

The column lists the systems and the subsystems added to the current offer. Below each system or subsystem, the masks that have been designed to help the Smart Quotes user to configure the system or the subsystem are displayed.

For some masks named a group of masks, there could be a set of masks.

In a group of masks, tabs are displayed on the top of the drawing pad area to allow the Smart Quotes user to navigate through all the masks included within the group of masks.

 

 

The contents of the drawing pad vary according the item selected in the column to the left of the drawing pad.

If a system or a sub-system is selected, the drawing pad shows a graphical representation of the systems and/or the subsystems added to the current offer. By default, the systems and sub-systems are located in the top left corner of the drawing pad. The Smart Quotes user can move each icon manually by dragging and dropping the desired icon anywhere into the drawing pad.

 

If a mask or a group of masks is selected, the corresponding mask or group of masks is displayed.

| The following default icon appears in the case where, for example, no icon has been defined for a system or a sub-system:

The ''Add'' button allows the Smart Quotes user to add a new system to the current offer, as from the [[Description of the Menu Project|Project menu]]. Upon clicking on this button, the [[Description of the Menu Project#Adding a System|New System]] window appears.

 

 

Upon saving, the system is added to the offer and its graphical representation appears on the top left corner of the drawing pad.

The ''Delete'' button allows the Smart Quotes user to delete a system or a subsystem. Upon clicking on this button, a pop up window appears asking the Smart Quotes user to confirm the deletion of the system or the subsystem. If the Smart Quotes user confirms, the system and/or the subsystem is deleted from the drawing pad and from the column to the left of the drawing pad.

| The system templates cannot be shared. Each Smart Quotes user sees the system templates that he/she has personnaly created.

* Add: to add a subsystem to the selected system. The list of subsystems appearing in the ''Add'' menu option are those defined by the administrator as compatible with the selected system. Some subsystems may be greyed out after they have been added to a system. This could be due to a limitation set by the administrator (i.e. the maximum quantity of subsystem that can be added to a system has been reached). Once a subsystem is added, the same window as in the [[Description of the Menu Project#Adding a Sub-system|Project tab]] opens. The Smart Quotes user can then define the properties of the sub-system.

| The ''From My Templates'' option allows the Smart Quotes user to add a pre-configured subsystem as with the [[#Add from Template | Add from Template]] funtion.

| The ''Add'' option is inactive when right-clicking on a subsystem or if the selected system does not accept subsystems.

 

 

* Delete: to delete the selected system or subsystem. The behaviour described in the above [[#Delete | Delete]] section applies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

| When copying a system which has a subsystem linked to it, the subsystem is also copied with its properties.

* Paste: to paste a copied subsystem to a selected system. The subsystem is copied with the same name, parameters and settings defined for the original subsystem. However, changes applied to the original subsystem are not carried over to the copied subsystem and vice versa. The subsystem can only be copied to an authorized system (i.e. the subsystem must be configured as linkable with the selected system) and if the maximum number of linkable subsystems has not been reached for the selected system (this limit is defined by the administrator).

 

| The ''Paste'' option is inactive when right-clicking on a subsystem.

 

 

* Save as Template: to save a system or a subsystem configured by the Smart Quotes user as a template. The values defined in the masks at the time the system or subsystem are saved are stored. The templates are personal. They cannot be shared between the users. When clicking on this option, the ''New System Template'' window appears as shown in the following example:

 

 

 

 

The Smart Quotes user can provide a description and additional comments before saving the template.

 

 

| The description defined in this window is taken as the [[Description of the Menu Project#Adding a System |system or subsystem's description]] when adding the system / subsystem template to the offer.

 

 

 

If the Smart Quotes user does not configure properly the properties in the masks of a system / subsystem (e.g. missing values, inconsistent values, un-selected items, etc.), it may not be possible for the user to access to the [[Description of the Menu Price | Price]], [[Description of the Menu Documents | Documents]] and [[Description of the Menu Order | Order]] menus, as shown in the following example:

If the Smart Quotes user is not authorized to use a system or a subsystem or if a system or a subsystem no longer exists in the portfolio, the user does not see at all the configuration masks, as shown in the following example:
