The news from the Smart Quotes user's version as well as the ones from the parent versions are displayed. The news can be sorted by version, by their publication date or by their priority.<br />

Unread news are indicated by an icon [[File:MetisSmartQuotesNewsUnreadIcon.PNG]] at the left of the version name. <br />
<br />
If at least one news has not been read, the Smart Quotes user is directed to the News menu when starting the application, instead of the [[Description of the Menu Open | Open menu]].<br />
<br />
Clicking on the news allows the Smart Quotes user to change the status of the news from unread to read (i.e. the icon disappears).<br />
<br />
The Smart Quotes user cannot delete the news. They remain visible until they are removed or unpublished by the administrators.<br />
<br />
If additional information has been defined by the administrator, a ''Details'' button appears for the news. Clicking on this button opens a separate window with the additional information or the document attached to the news.</div>Ibrahim
